Who Should Attend?
Raising Kids to Do Hard Things focuses specifically on how parents and their teens can live and work together as a team so that everybody wins. But in order to work together as a team it helps to be trained together as a team with parents, young adults, teens, younger siblings and grandparents, all coordinating their efforts with one another for the benefit of the entire household. So, the answer to “Who should attend?” is everyone (ages 10+). That is why we offer a “Flat Rate” for families of any size. We want you to bring your entire team.
CALLING ALL PARENTS
If you are a mother or a father with kids of any age, this seminar is for you! The sooner you understand the biblical purpose for having kids and the principles of child training presented in this seminar, the more likely you are to succeed. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn how to raise your kids to do hard things together.
CALLING THE REBELUTION
If you have read Do Hard Things and you are already excited about “rebelling against low expectations,” this seminar is for you and your siblings. But the best thing you can do for yourself is get your parents and grandparents on board! They can help you do hard things in ways you could never do on your own. So build your launch crew. That will make your home a better launching pad for life.
CALLING ALL GRANDPARENTS
Grandparents are an important part of any biblical family. But no one in modern society suffers more from low expectations than the elderly. They are often left out of the family. But grandparents are living treasures. They have a lot to offer in their wisdom, their connections and in some cases, in their resources (If you are reading this as a grandparent, why wait until you are dead and gone to begin investing in the next generation? Share what you have while you are still here to help direct the way your heirs use it). If you are reading this as an adult child or grandchild, include your parents and/or grandparents on your Do Hard Things team. Three generations serving God together are even better than two!
CALLING ALL PARENTS OF “UNINTERESTED” TEENS
If you are the parent of a teen who hasn’t yet read Do Hard Things or who is just not all that interested in what it means to rebel against low expectations, make plans to attend this seminar together. It may save their soul. It will certainly help them catch the vision for what life could be like in a more adventurous Christian household. As the seminar progresses they will understand how closely their future is tied together with the strength and success of your family as a whole.
BUT WHY SHOULD I BRING MY KIDS TO A PARENTING SEMINAR?
This is no ordinary “parenting seminar.” It is a household strategy seminar for parents and their teens. There’s nothing in this seminar that ought to be kept secret from your kids. On the contrary, they will benefit from knowing exactly what you are doing and why. And, it is in their interest to help you succeed.
IS THERE A LOWER AGE LIMIT?
Though this is a seminar about how to raise kids, in order to allow you to listen and participate without distraction, and as a courtesy to your fellow participants, we ask that, if at all possible, you not bring children under the age of 10 (other than nursing infants) into the seminar sessions. We recommend instead that you arrange for child care with a trusted friend of your family. However, we trust your judgment as parents in this matter and we will not turn anyone away. Noble Institute does not provide child care during the seminar and all children attending the seminar must be registered as a family member and must remain with their parents throughout the day. No exceptions. Thank you for understanding.
BRING YOURSELF & YOUR SPOUSE
Even if none of your family members are old enough, or interested enough, to attend the seminar with you at this time, don’t let that stop you. If you can, make it a couple’s retreat at the host hotel for just you and your spouse. Each session will set the stage for the kinds of conversations that husbands and wives need to have often, but hardly ever do.
BRING YOURSELF
It’s hard. But sometimes God requires us to stand alone for what we know is right. He uses a faithful individual to revive and reform his or her own family. So, if need be, come alone. Use the seminar as your own personal getaway to gain new perspective on how your family life could work better in the light of Scripture. You won’t regret attending.
BRING A GROUP
Regardless of how many, or how few, attend the seminar from your own family, you can bring along a group from your church or organization. Just follow the instructions in the Organize a Group section under the Registration Info link on the sidebar to your left. Your entire group of 10 or more registrations will receive a 10% discount on their registration fees, and your group’s Champion (which could be you!) will receive a free pass. Act now to start your group.
