FRIDAY EVENING 5:00 to 8:30 P.M.
5:00 to 6:30 Hotel Check In, Registration & Bookstore Open
7:00 P.M. Why Raise Kids to Do Hard Things?
What is God’s reason for entrusting children to their parents? How does He intend for parents to raise their children? What kinds of “hard things” does God intend for young people to do, and why should they begin doing such hard things while they are still young? In this introductory session we will look at why worldly approaches to child training and youth ministry are failing so miserably and how raising kids to do hard things provides a solution that really works.

8:00 P.M. Break 30 Minutes

8:30 P.M. How to Be a Household for All Seasons of Life
Raising kids to do hard things is a way of life, not a program or a technique. It involves making the home a quiet place of delightful study, creative work, generous hospitality and leadership development for young and old alike. Such a household serves not only as the launching pad of life for young adults, but also as an embassy of the kingdom of God over the course of a lifetime.

9:30 to 10:00 Making Plans as a Family (Late Dinner or Dessert– on your own)

SATURDAY MORNING & AFTERNOON 8:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M.
8:00 to 9:00 A.M. Final Registration & Bookstore Open

9:00 A.M. The Goodness of God’s Design in Your Marriage & Family
God has three primary purposes for marriage and all of them are good for parents and good for children. In this session we will look at how gender differences compliment one another in the household and why the tension created by male and female needs makes the family stronger.

10:30 A.M. Break 30 Minutes

11:00 A.M. Raising Kids to Enjoy All the Challenges of Life
A good challenge is intended to be hard enough to be interesting and not boring, but not so hard as to be frustrating or discouraging. The first steps toward leaning a new skill must convince the student that with reasonable effort success can be achieved. In this session we will look at how parents can instill a combination of humility and confidence that enjoys doing hard things for the glory of God and the good of others.

12:00 Noon — Lunch Break (Meet & Eat With Your Closest Neighbors)

1:30 P.M. Study Hard & Work Hard—Education & Family Business
Delight-directed study projects and home-based side-businesses can provide a wonderful training ground for raising kids to do hard things. Learning for the sake of doing something well is enjoyable. Doing well for oneself by doing good for others is the heart of every biblical business. Together these two adventures can make the Christian household stronger and more competent to serve as the embassy of God’s kingdom.

3:00 P.M. Break 30 Minutes

3:30 P.M. Party Hard & Campaign Hard—Social & Civic Leadership
God loves a righteous party. He commands His people to rejoice together, especially over a holiday meal. He commands His people everywhere to practice hospitality. At the same time God calls His people the salt and light of the world. Our godly presence is intended to roll back moral corruption and shine as beacons that draw others to faith in Jesus. Our participation in voluntary association with other like-minded neighbors is also intended to influence the course of our civil government. This is the lifestyle of an ambassador for Christ and it is good for everyone.

4:30 P.M. Appreciation to Our Host Team

4:45 P.M. Closing Comment: The Insight Is Not the Action: Do Hard Things!
How can we take more of the insights we receive in our mountaintop experiences with God down into the valley below where the paths of life require us to actually do hard things? These closing comments will offer one key that can help us do so every week and every day of our lives.
