This Is A Household Strategy

Scripture, history and personal experience teach us that it normally takes at least two generations willing to coordinate their efforts with one another in order for the younger generation to rise above the challenges of life and become “mighty in the land” (Psalm 112:1-4). The challenge for each family, no matter where you are starting from, is to form a strong partnership between the young and the old, between the strength of youth and the wisdom of age (Prov. 20:29) to do hard things together for the glory of God and the good of one another. Parents and teens have to work together.

That is why Raising Kids to Do Hard Things can best be understood as a Christian household strategy seminar. It is a child training seminar, but not in the way you might think. The household as a whole has more influence on each child’s character and competence than the parents by themselves. Siblings can make or break the process. Teamwork can make up for whatever is lack in parental skill. In other words, by “managing your household well” you can “keep your children under control with all dignity.” It is the household as a whole that serves as the training ground and incubator of future greatness.

Raising Kids to Do Hard Things teaches Christian families why to do hard things and how to do hard things together as a family. In the process it addresses every major area of life— personal, family, education, business, ministry hospitality and civic duty. In this Friday evening and Saturday morning and afternoon seminar you will learn how to make your home and family “a household of strength.”

The truth is, the best way to raise kids to do hard things is by being willing to do hard things with them as an adventurous way of life. That is what the Harris Family has been doing for the last 35 years. By God’s grace it works. And you can do it too. In the process your entire family will grow closer to one another, your marriage will be strengthened, your finances will be stronger, your church will benefit, your children will grow in godly character, practical competence and your household will increase its community influence. To the degree that you are willing to be an ambassador for Christ your home will become an embassy of the kingdom of God. And God will use it as “the launching pad of life” for your kids. All you need to do is trust in Jesus enough to actually obey Him. God will take care of the rest.

So, if you long to be a stronger family that can really be used by God to make good things happen in the world around you, don’t miss this seminar. Register today. Pick the dates and location that work best for you and your family.
